Electronic structure and magnetism of disordered bcc Fe alloys
We here study electronic structure and magnetic properties of disordered bcc CoxFe1−x, CrxFe1−x and MnxFe1−x alloys in their ferromagnetic phases using Augmented Space Recursion (ASR) technique coupled with tight-binding linearized muffin tin orbital (TB-LMTO) method. We calculate the densities of states, magnetic moments and Curie temperatures of these alloys to show the variation upon alloyin...
متن کاملMagnetism of 3d Transition Metals and Magnetic Anisotropy of one-dimension Ni Chains on Au(110)-(1×2): A Noncollinear ab− initio Density-Functional-Theory Study
Based on Density Functional Theory (DFT) with non-collinear-magnetism formulations, we have calculated the magnetism of single atom of 3d transition metals and the magnetic anisotropy of supported Ni chains on Au(110)-(1×2) surface. Our results show that surface relaxations enhance the orbital moments of left-end elements (Ti,V) and quench the orbital moments of right-end elements (Fe,Co,Ni) on...
متن کاملFinite-temperature magnetism of transition metals: an ab initio dynamical mean-field theory.
We present an ab initio quantum theory of the finite-temperature magnetism of iron and nickel. A recently developed technique which combines dynamical mean-field theory with realistic electronic structure methods successfully describes the many-body features of the one electron spectra and the observed magnetic moments below and above the Curie temperature.
متن کاملSynthesis, Spectroscopy and Magnetism of Alkoxobridged Dinuclear Copper(II) Complexes with 2 Amino Picolines as the Ligands
The synthesis, spectroscopic and magnetic characterization of a series of new alkoxo-bridged binuclear copper (II) compounds are described. All complexes have the general formula [Cu (m-OR)(L)2]2(ClO4)2 · x H2O, in which m-OR = CH3O-, C2H5O- or C3H7O-<e...

— The effects of magnetism on high pressure properties of transition metals and transition metal compounds can be quite important. In the case of Fe, magnetism is responsible for stability of the body-centered cubic (bcc) phase at ambient conditions, and the large thermal expansivity in face-centered cubic (fcc) iron, and also has large effects on the equation of state and elasticity of hexagon...
